Life-Sized Lord of the Rings Crown of Gondor Costs $750

As the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy begins celebrating a string of landmark anniversaries over the next few years, and Warner Bros. remains eager to delve too greedily and too deep into getting what it can out of the franchise, there’s at least one way we all get to win: absurdly priced Lord of the Rings collectibles, anyone?

Such is the case with PureArts’ newly announced replica of the crown worn by Aragorn in the climax of Return of the King, heralding the end of the stewardship of the kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor, and, well, the return of the King.

Aside from being a literal crown you can put atop your head, the replica goes a frankly absurd step further by giving you a scaled replica of Minas Tirith itself—where the crown was kept for the best part of a thousand years once Gondor’s royal line broke with the passing of Eärnur—to display the crown on. No simple stand, here! Minas Tirith even lights up with LEDs, to highlight the white city in all its glory and, presumably, make your very fancy crown replica sparkle just that little bit more.

All that absurdity is why then the Crown of Gondor will set you back a whopping $750—no backing of an army of ghastly oathbreakers or reforged shards of fabled blades required, at least. There’s just 1,500 of the 14-pound replica being made, with an even more limited 150-piece run being sold through PureArts itself that comes with a wall banner depicting the emblem of Gondor’s white tree from the movies. As if you were not already going a bit overboard with the crown in the first place.

PureArts’ Crown of Gondor replica is available to pre-order now for those inclined—click through to ogle at a few more pictures, if $750 is understandably a little too rich for your blood.
